Dr. Ron Virmani, M.D. - Personal Experience - HIKING AT YOSEMITE - Day 2

Day 2: June 20, Monday:  We drove up to the Wawona Tunnel view point.  From here, we could get the classic view of the whole valley in its grand splendor.  El Capitan stood guard over the western end of the valley.  Rising 3593 feet from the valley floor, it is the largest monolith of granite in the world.  We could also see the Half Dome, Sentinel Rock, Cathedral rocks and Bridalveil fall.  From the Tunnel view point, we went on to hike the Inspirational trail.  On this 10-mile round trip trail, we enjoyed more spectacular views of the above points of interest.  Overheated from the hike, we sought refuge at the base of Bridalveil fall (620 feet drop of water) where strong spray of mist cooled us off in no time.
