Day 6: June 24: Friday:
We packed our bags and shopped for souvenirs. We visited the grand
Ahwahnee hotel, nestled in a woodland setting, where one night stay
would set one back by 400 plus dollars. We settled for an exquisite
lunch in the Ahwahnee dining room, with its 34-foot tall trestle-beamed
ceiling, floor to ceiling windows and many twinkling chandeliers. We
drove back to San Francisco, enjoying some fresh California cherries,
plums and strawberries.
Day 7: June 25: Saturday: We took a walking trip of fisherman’s wharf and downtown San Francisco. We hiked up and down the Lombard street and visited the cable car museum. We were amazed by the glittering shops in Chinatown. In the afternoon, I split from the group and drove to Fremont.
